B.S. Ed. Elementary Education
The mission of The College of Education at Northern Arizona University is to prepare education professionals to create the schools of tomorrow. Along with learning what to teach and how to teach you have opportunities to experience increasingly complex assignments in classrooms with master teachers. This is a 2+2 program whereby students complete the first 2 years of general education coursework, as well as pre-requisites for admission to the program, at a community college. Fieldwork and practicum experiences are integral parts of your professional teaching preparation.
This program leads to teacher certification in the state of Arizona. In addition to completing this program, you will be required to complete specific documentation and take the appropriate Teacher Certification examination(s).
Please go to the Arizona Department of Education Teacher Certification webpage at: http://www.ade.state.az.us/certification/ for additional information.
Here you will find additional information on Arizona state certification requirements and Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessment (AEPA) testing procedures.
