Do you currently work or want to work in city, state, or county government or law enforcement? Do you want to work in public or private service agencies or helping services? This program is specifically designed to give you the skills to succeed in careers in government policy and administration. Courses help you develop the skills and gain the insights needed to plan and formulate policy, and to manage, organize, and implement operations in the public arena.
You will focus on budgeting, planning, and organizational issues in public agencies. You'll choose courses designed to help you acquire a general knowledge of management, organizational, and policy issues while advancing your professional communication, computer, and quantitative skills. You will be offered courses in discretion and decision making, environment and society, government budgeting, government budgeting, public agency organizational theory, personnel administration, and conflict resolution.
