Construction on Interstate 10 widening project in Tucson continues. Getting to our office during current construction until early 2013. Coming Westbound/Northbound on I-10: Drive westbound and take exit 252 on Ruthrauff road. Turn left on Ruthrauff under freeway and then immediately turn left again to take the Frontage Rd south. Stay on frontage road until you see a stop sign on Commerce Dr. Keep going straight and our building is the first on the right side of the street after Commerce Dr. Coming Eastbound/Southbound on I-10: Drive eastbound and take exit 252 and cross Ruthrauff road going straight. Do not enter highway. Drive south on the Frontage road south until you see a stop sign on Commerce Dr. Keep going straight and our building is the first on the right side of the street after Commerce Dr. Leaving our office: Get back on the Frontage Rd. north and turn west(left) on Commerce Dr. Follow the detour arrows which will go all around the back side of the businesses through River Park Dr., la Cholla and Ft. Lowell Rd until you are back on the Frontage Rd. Then Turn south(right) and go to Miracle Mile. From there you have access to take Miracle mile east, or get back on I-10. Some of the improvements that are planned as part of this project include: - Widening the I-10 freeway to four lanes in each direction to better handle increases in traffic.
- Reconstructing the Prince Road traffic interchange so that Prince Road will pass over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and I-10.
- Updating the on-ramps and off-ramps to provide better connections and improved access for motorists.
- New landscaping along the project area.
Construction with traffic impacts in limited areas of the project began in September 2011. Traffic impacts include Prince Road reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction at I-10 and the closure of Business Center Drive at Prince Road to vehicular traffic. The full closure of the Prince Road underpass and ramps will occur March 12, 2012. The project is scheduled to be completed by late 2013. Directions
Eastbound I-10: Exit Prince Rd. Follow the frontage road approximately 1/4 mile, NAU on your RIGHT. Westbound I-10: Due to constructions you must travel north and exit on Ruthrauff Rd. Turn LEFT under the freeway and left on the frontage road and come back down south along Eastbound Frontage Rd. You will see our NAU building at the corner of Frontage Rd and Commerce drive.
